These I believe are few issues we as nation are facing today. I have no problem starting a conversation with anybody, actually I enjoy talking to all kinds of people traveling across the great country of ours. Learning how others think or what their core beliefs are is very important to me. I have learned from my own experience and throughout lifetime of learning about history many reasons why societies have tried to control people several different ways. Whether it’s through gun control, restricting freedom of speech because of political correctness, taxation and regulations in the name of environment (this is the latest attempt by big government) or downright controlling the people’s thought process through “public education”. To battle this disease (radio talk show host Michael Savage’s word) we as a nation should emphasize the US Constitution as a “rule book to follow” not as a piece of document to interpret as we need fit to our time. I will use a quote of our local Tea Party leader (he possibly is quoting someone else but I’m using him as a source) “The Constitution was written based on human nature and principles. Principles don’t change and human nature doesn’t change.”
I do not look at United States as world’s policeman nor we should be. We should not be world’s welfare or world’s refuge camp. People of their own countries should police themselves, take care of themselves and demand and fight for their own better government. I look at US as necessary leader in freedom of speech and freedom of thoughts. That will bring the finest of the world to our shores not the neediest. The US Constitution, if followed more closely, will guarantee our progress.
Donald Trump is not the perfect candidate but he represents different hope and change than we’ve seen in last few years. He is the first non career politician since Ronald Reagan(I know Reagan was governor too but he had success in private sector first). Many of his policies might not be quite refined yet but his purpose of forcing other candidates into more honest debate is something to admire him for. He is financially independent and truly loves his country(unlike the current president). The establishment on the right, the left and the mainstream media hates it. He is a person who does not have to rely on any of them to run for president. He is undermining their importance and attempting to transfer the power back to the citizens. Is he the answer to all? Absolutely not but he is the answer to our most important need. Power back to the people.
Women in combat issue really struck a note with me for one main reason. I believe that women are much better at many things than men. I have a wonderful wife and daughter and they prove it to me everyday. I am very proud of them both. But one thing the men have been better at than women throughout history is fighting. And nature intended it that way. Civilization after civilization in the past several thousand years have done everything in their power to protect women (and children) from harms way. Millions of men died in the wars to provide safety for them. Here comes the United States of America 21st century “progressive” agenda allowing women into combat. It is against all laws of nature to let few very loud ideologues to get their way and attempt to turn the natural order on itss head. We are all equal human beings but (shocker warning!) we are not equally good at everything. As mentioned earlier I witness everyday in my family how capable women are but leave the fighting to us.
Gun control advocates each and every time there is an opportunity disregard history and they can because people do not pay attention. It is a level of arrogance and ignorance to facts never seen before. This applies to most political leaders, not just democrats. They concern is further their agenda not better the country. That is why they’re called THE ESTABLISHMENT.
I just finished reading a book on Prohibition. That is one great example, could not find better one at the moment, what happens when chosen few decide to control basic human desires. Consumption of mind altering substances has been around for long time and the desire to protect and defend your family or community has been around since we live in caves, maybe longer.
Some might argue “yeah but alcohol does not kill people”. It actually does and it does have far more negative impact on any society than guns do. Drunk driving deaths, broken families, loss of productivity are just few.
Prohibition created black market and with black market came the rise of black marketeers (also known as The Mafia, gangs and corrupt, very corrupt politicians and law enforcement officials). The Prohibition led to tremendous increase in violence, a result of many “turf wars”. We have enough problems with trying to control, elimination is out of reach at this moment, the drug trade. Do not add firearms to list of things only available on black market.
I will always get rebuttal from gun control advocates saying the government only wants take away some guns, the hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns for competition are no problem. I do not trust them. Few bans always lead to total ban. That is how government works. For example the Affordable Care Act(nothing affordable about it if you have your own private insurance) is attempt to decimate the health care industry and create a path to single payer system. BIG GOVERNMENT at it’s best and we the people keep falling for their tricks.
To remind everyone, there is at least three hundred million guns in this country and Feds would definitely not confiscate all of them. What would happen with millions of guns now in the country illegally? God only knows and I will do my part to keep that from happening.
To close this blog I most recently realize during conversations with Americans of all ages that the ones born approximately after 1955-1960 want the solutions to the issues of this country to be absolute. If there is a problem come with solution and that will take care of it. They do not understand it takes sacrifice and struggle to make the country, community or society better. How can they? They were born and raised in a country of peace and prosperity never seen before and very likely will never be seen again. Their experiences taught them they live in a great country with unlimited opportunities but did not teach them how to keep it that way for the ones who come after.
The people who deserve credit for what we have now came on the boats from the “old world”, fought the oppressors(British) for many years, fought in civil war, first world war, survived depression, rose up just to fight another world war and rebuilt the country and western world again. They know what it takes. Unfortunately as the years go by the only way to learn is from the written word. The importance of learning history has to be emphasize more. It will teach us far more about the future.
